The double whammy premiere of Whitney Port's new spin off, The City, aired last night on MTV, and the gossip is juicy already!
Whitney
made her way to New York City to start a new job with fashion designer
Diane Von Furstenbur, and met a whole new group of snotty, rich kid
friends along the way.
Some how Whitney knows Erin, who she is crashing with while she gets on her feet in the big apple.
Erin seems nice and sweet - so far so good on the friend scale.
On
her first day at her new job, she met Olivia, who is apparently part of
the "uptown crowd". If being part of the uptown crowd means you're
fake, pretentious and snotty - then she definitely belongs there. After
only two episodes I think Whitney should be steering clear of this girl.
She
also has an odd fixation with Whitney's newest love interest,
Australian rocker, Jay. She must've asked Whitney about him a million
times in an hours time. I wonder where that storyline will head.
Speaking
of Jay, we get to see the first signs of sketchiness from him last
night. He seems to be super into Whitney, the pair get together all
the time, however when he is hanging out with his roommate Adam, he
declares he will not stop seeing other girls any time soon and that his
relationship with Whit is moving too fast.
He, of course, sings a
different tune when Whitney confronts him about a rumourshe heard
from her ex-flame Alex the model, that Jay is still persuing his ex
girlfriend and spent the night with her. Jay quickly and adimantly
denies any involvement with this ex girlfriend and is quick to change
the subject. Hmmm...I dont know about this rock star.
All in all a great season premiere, and I can't wait to find out more dish on these snooty socialites in The City.

As odd as it is for Hollywood marriages to last longer than a month, it's even more strange that a bunch of those who made it decided to split this year.
The following is a list of the top ten celebrity divorces for 2008.
1. Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmunds
This one isn’t much of a surprise considering Murphy got involved with Edmunds very quickly after his traumatic divorce from his previous wife of a very long time.
What is surprising, however, is that this current union only lasted two weeks after the pair wed in Bora Bora.
2. Madonna and Guy Ritchie
It’s a shocker that Madge even made it through a 7 ½ year long marriage to begin with, so kudos to her! But after a year of A-Rod and divorce rumours, the couple finally called it quits.
3. Morgan Freeman and Myrna Colley-Lee
This one is actually sad. After Freeman was seriously injured in a car accident, it was announced that he and his wife of 24 years were divorcing.
4. Star Jones and Al Reynolds
This one makes me barf – because it involves Star Jones. The three years they were together was filled with media frenzy, bling, and weight loss – and that was all Star. If I was Al I’d want to get the hell out of there too!
5. Liv Tyler and Royston Langdon
This pair were married for 5 years and share a 3 year old son, who they plan on continuing to raise together. How civil!
6. Kate Walsh and Alex Young
After all the hoopla Kate made about how great her guy was, she only ended up staying married to him for a year. Perhaps they should’ve given it longer than 3 months before they got engaged.
7. Robin Williams and Marsha Garces
Here’s another biggy. After 20 years together, the funny man and his wife have split. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s hilarious – but it seems like he is always on, and that would drive me insane.
8. Emily and Charlie Robinson
Dixie Chick, and some dude – who cares. 10 years together though, nice effort!
9. Pink and Carey Hart
I don’t get these two. They continue to be best friends, she’s always going on about how cute she thinks he is, etc. however, they can’t stay married.
To each their own!
10. Chris Kattan and Sunshine Tutt
Who could be married to Chris Kattan? The model dated him for 3 years – I say that’s long enough.

In a press conference held in Iraq this weekend, an Iraqi television journalist hurled his shoes at President Bush, nearly hitting him in the face!
It has to be one of the funnier things I’ve seen.
Bush was in Iraq for his last visit, holding the press conference with Iraqi prime minister Nuri al-Maliki.
The journalist, Muntazer al-Zaidi, shouted “it is the farewell kiss, you dog!” before he was wrestled to the ground by security guards.
Apparently in Arab culture, the highest insult is the soles of shoes, which Bush had to duck to get out of the way of.
The President just ducked and weaved out of the way of the shoes, and stood a bit stunned, with a smirk on his face, watching the whole fiasco go down.
He later joked saying “I don’t know what the guy said, but I saw his sole.” Har har har “W” is so funny.
I guess there are still some people pissed at Bush for the 2003 invasion on Iraq. The goal was to implement democracy in the country, so really this incident proves the mission has been accomplished!

Last night's episode of The Hills were about two things - making sure everyone knows about Whitney's upcoming spin off show, The City, and Stephanie's relationship problems.
Whitney gets recommended for a job in New York City with a big name designer Diane Von Furstenberg. She happily takes the interview, and uses the quickie trip to catch up with her newest love interest Jay, the Australian singer dude.
Is it just me or does he look like Justin Bobby? Who, by the way, has seemingly disappeared off the show for the last couple of episodes.
Anyway, something more than has been shown on the show has definitely gone on between those two because they were very lovey dovey, touchey feeley with each other. It was cute, and nice to see that Whitney is an actual 20-something year old girl - not just a one-minded fashionista.
But we will see more of that in her spin off series that begins on December 29th I'm sure!
I can only assume, for lack of more content, the rest of the show was dedicated to Stephanie complaiining about her boyfriend Cameron.
She went to her brother for advice....umm...sorry I got distracted by the stupidity of that whole situaiton.
She ended up breaking up with the always emotionless boyfriend, but on the MTV After Show she revealed they are back together.
My opinion is, who cares?! We've barely seen or heard about this guy in the first place, and now we're supposed to get caught up in their relationship - MTV I don't get it?

David Beckham proved himself to be quite the coward yesterday.
The English soccer mega star decided he would pick a fight with the paparazzi while walking to his car.
According to an eyewitness, David walked up to the car taunting the driver to come out.
When the photographer declined, Beckham’s bodyguard ran over to the passenger side and just started wailing on him!
As the hired help beat up the meanie picture-taker guys, Beckham took off in his car with wife Victoria (Posh Spice a.k.a. anorexic spice) to get a couple manicure!
Must be nice to have people to fight your battles for you and make you look so good.
And another thing, since when did the Beckhams have any problem being in the spotlight, or having their picture taken?!
