Tiger talksI must say - Tiger surprised and didn't dissapoint. In his long awaited press conference this afternoon, Tiger was not his usual self - not the one we all remember from the pre-Thanksgiving time. But he should get a gold star for giving straight forward and honest answers.

Most people though that he would refuse to answer any questions about his personal life - but he wasn't hiding anything. Of course - there were a few pointed questions, to which he did reply "That's personal" but overall, he did talk about his injuries, the rehab he started and the impact the entire situation had on him and his family.

He assured everyone that he is planning to take a little different approach - mostly to continously show respect for the game he loves so much. When asked what that meant specifically, he spoke about the famous outbursts he has been known to exhibit during matches. But he also pointed out that there is a balance between the negative behaviour and it will show up in his exhibiting the positive one - namely the exhuberant reactions he had when making that crutial shot.

Surprising comments were several on the same note - that winning tournaments means nothing if your family life is in jeopardy. He actually referred to winning as being irrelevant compared to what his actions have done to his family. He spoke openly about the damage he has done to his family, his friends and collegues and several times expressed his gratitude for all the support he received. His biggest regret - missing his son's first birthday. He assured everyone openly that he is going to do everything possible for that not to happen ever again.

He didn't appear to be nervous and said as much, but also admitted that he will be nervous stepping on the first tee on Thursday. But he has Stevie back on the bag and that feels great.

Going forward, he plans to be a better man and for that he needed to realize that he first needed to help himself. He is still in rehab and plans to continue with that, along with meditation, return to Budhism and remembering values his parents - especially his father thought him.

He also understands why some sponsors dropped him and is very grateful to those who stood by him. As far as future sponsors? He wants to prove to them that is a worthwhile investment for them.

And his expectations for this week? With that famous Tiger smile, he said: "I am here to play to win"

Amen Tiger!
