It’s a sad day in music around the world. The King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away after suffering from a heart attack in his Los Angeles home.

Jackson, 50, was getting ready for the London England leg of his comeback tour, a tour that will never be.

He was a truly a sensational artist who has paved the way for the upcoming artists of today. He was a gifted artist who had a vision that not everyone else could see.

The circumstances of his death were not immediately clear and Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m.

His 1982 album “Thriller” — which included the blockbuster hits “Beat It,” “Billie Jean” and “Thriller” — remains the biggest-selling album of all time, with more than 26 million copies. (and I will admit I know the words to all of those songs on that album off by heart)

He was the most exciting performer of his generation, known for his white glove wearing, crotch-grabbing dance moves and his high-pitched voice punctuated with squeals. And despite all of this, as odd as some of it may sound, Michael Jackson was a true artist above anything else. He was many girls first boyfriend. I can see him now on the cover of the “Thriller” album in his white suit and Jeri Curl, smiling at all of the young girls who idolized him. The Black Entertainment Awards (BET) are this weekend and I’m sure there will be an amazing tribute to Michael and his success over the years. For once in a very long time I am speechless.
