American Idol finalists are now official -
and no surprises there.
The show is having its problems - 47 million
votes were cast and that is a whole lot less than last year, when more than 88
million were counted for Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen - he went to
win the 8th season, remember?
And Casey James was eliminated - he was the
one who received the fewest votes from viewers, in spite of some reports that
teen and pre-teen girls (and some over the teen ones as well) will vote for him
no matter what. Casey consistently impressed judges Simon Cowell, Kara
DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and Ellen DeGeneres - but never really seem to shock
them with an outstanding performance.
Casey fate was pretty much sealed after the competition show, when Simon
compared his rendition of Eric Hutchinson's "OK, It's Alright With Me" to a
salad.
So that leaves Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze
to fight it out for the title in next week's finale. Both of them are 24 years
and both of them are very talented. Lee told Ryan Seacrest that he never wanted
to win as much as he does right now and crystal was very gracious, thanking
judges for their support and their words of wisdom.
Hope the finale will meet expectations - as much
as lots of preliminary votes are in Lee's favour - my bet has always been on
Crystal - so we will just have to wait and see!
