Big Mike was not safe last night anymore - the elimination
night results showed the least number of votes for one the show's favourite.
This week was certainly interesting all together, as the
show brought back some past contestants - like Fantasia and Daughtry. Fantasia
was not that great, but it was nice to see again. Daughtry performed their new
single "September" - great song, great arrangement, great performance. And then
their was a classic - Bon Jovi on the stage of American Idol was a real treat.
So was their new single "Superman Tonight".
OK - so now we are down to the top three - Casey James, Lee
Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox. Personally, I would have preferred to see Casey
being eliminated, I think big Mike has a whole lot more talent - but that is
just my personal opinion. Who will be the two fighting for the Idol title? My
guess is Lee and Crystal and I do think that Crystal will walk away with the
top honour.
Tune in next week - you will see the Top three Idols back in
their hometowns, giving some more excitement to their communities.
That cute livewire who had such a great
chemistry with her partner Louis Van Amstel and was such fun to watch is the
one leaving Season 10 of Dancing With the Stars.
She was impressive with her attitude -
attacking everything with a real zest. But it is getting to the end of the
season and somebody had to go home.
So now there is Nicole and Derek, Evan and
Anna, Erin and Maks and Chad and Cheryl. Nicole and Derek are more than very
good - remember their perfect 30 score for the 1950 Paso Doble? Show total - 59
and that is beyond awesome. The Pussycat Doll Nicole broke into tears after the
performance, admitting that the pressure was getting to her.
So I think that all eyes will be on Nicole -
and she really is the favourite to win the show title. But - anything can
happen....
Last night's competition was certainly
memorable. Not only because of the level of performances, but also because this
was the first week that the couples had to each perform two dances. And that
cannot be easy! Learning two routines really puts extra pressure on.
They all did great - the one I have to single
out was Evan Lysacek and his partner Anna. They performed the Waltz and the Cha
Cha. And I have to tell you - it really didn't look like Evan had too much
trouble with learning and performing the two routines! He does have a great
advantage being a figure skater, even though he sees that the opposite way. As
he stated previously, he has a bit of a challenge to move his hips - moves which
you cannot do in skating. Their Waltz was very nice and smooth and I loved
their ChaCha routine. They chose a futuristic theme - each couple had a
different time period to portray - and theirs was very cute! The judges were
kind of OK with it but the couple scored only 26 out of 30 for it.
So the leaderboard is looking as follows:
Nicole and Derek are still on the top with 59
out of 60 points.
Evan and Anna and Erin and Maks got 53 out of
60 points and that puts them into a tie for second place.
Chad and Cheryl counted 45 points - good for
third.
Nicey and Louie managed to get only 43 points
- but

This week's results show said good-bye to 17-year old Aaron
Kelly - and it appears that a whole lot of viewers also said bye bye to the
show. Despite the attraction of Lady Gaga performance and all the high level
promotions, Americal Idol attracted the lowest number of fans since 2002. 19.1
million people watched the results show, according to Nielsen's estimates. Even
though the number was lower, it was still good enough to make it - and Fox -
the No.1 show the evening. The runner-up show you wonder? It was CBS's "criminal
Minds" with 12.2 million viewers.
So the "Americal Idol" is heading to the home stretch. MTV news
people went to streets of New York to check who the favourite one is to win it
all. And what did they find? Overwhelming support for Crystal Bowersox over
Casey James, Lee Dewyze and Michael Lynche. But those fan who were asked to
name their favourite were almost without an exception going to Crystal. Main
reasons - the most talent that is true to herself and knows what her art is.
There were a few who named Michael Lynche as their favourite and that would
make him the second favourite. And also some supported Casey. So where does
that leave Lee? I wouldn't count him out - i actually think that it will be Lee
and Crystal as the final two - but I guess we will have to wait and see......
Time is just flying by and the competition is getting more
and more intense. Now it is Week 7 and performances are really sky-rocketting
in imagination, creativity and technical difficulty.

Last season the group routines were some of the best - this season
the performance was a bit dull, even though the couples tried their best. I
mean - the way the routine was set up, you could really see just how many steps
were missed!

found Halle Berry with her adorable little daughter Nahla walking the Malibu
beach.
As we have heard only couple of days ago,
Halle and Gabriel Aubry have officially split and Halle went to a divorce
lawyer about 3 weeks ago to make custody arrangements.
So
far - nothing has been agreed on, not in the custody or any kind of financial
settlement. Neither Halle or Gabriel have made further steps in trying to make
permanent arrangements for the 2-years old Nahla. The word out is that they are
both working well together and there are no problems or disagreements in the
parental duties area.
So
far - only temporary arrangements have been agreed on and both Halle and
Gabriel are sorting things out. We are sure there is quite a bit to sort out so
stay tuned for more updates!
It was Shania Twain's cross-over artistry that did do it for
Siobhan. Tuesday night's show was an exercise in how not be a country singer -
Shania's songs are definitely pop but she managed very well to make them fit into
the country genre with a huge mainstream appeal.
In my opinion, "Big Mike" - the R&B singer Michael
Lynche did really well as did Aaron Kelly - and I really thought he was the one
that would have a hard time with Shania's songs.
The performances on the result show were awesome - Rascal Flatts
didn't disappoint, they were not over-exciting but great never the less. And
Shakira - as always had the fans on their feet with her performance of her new
song "Gypsy" - kind a new sound for her but it does work!
I was not so sure about the pre-recorded performance by Sons
of Sylvia - formerly known as The Clark Brothers. They were once more gospel
and very country - now they are definitely more into Pop-rock stuff. They will
be touring with Carrie Underwood so no doubt - their show will be great!
And - Lady Antebellum? Even if also pre-recorded, their
number 1 hit "Need You Now" is just that - number one. I think everyone has
heard the fact that the lead singer Hillary scott tried out twice for "American
Idol" and never made it past first round - so you never know - Idol is not the
only way to get to the top when you are that good!
As far as the rest of the "American Idol" results show -
Crystal Bowersox is in a class of her own I think - that girl really has a
great idea who she is as an artist. And if she was not all that safe this time -
there was doubt in my mind that she will be put through to the next round. And
then it came to the bottom three - Siobhan Magnus, Casey James and Michael
Lynche. And as "Big Mike" accurately stated - there was no shame in being in
the bottom three - this is the time the competition gets really tough and even
the big talents have to leave sometimes.
Next week's show Harry Connick Jr. Mentors the Top 5 with
songs of Frank Sinatra. Should be another great and challenging one to watch!
The emotional reality television stars Jake Pavelka got the
axe last night and is now finished clicking his heels on the America's most
watched dance show "Dancing With the Stars".
And Jake was almost in tears when talking to the crowd after
realizing he was out. And it was nice of him to thank his dancing partner
Chelsie Hightower who apparently is now one of his best friends.
Jake - who was a commercial pilot before making his debut on
"The Bachelorette" - being the handsome and charming young guy looking for
love. He was quite popular on "Dancing With the Stars", even though he messed
up during his Samba on the competition night. Scoring only 21 points from the
judges, the writing was on the wall about what was about to happen. And really -
it was no surprise! He performed variety of dances but was very often
criticized for being stiff and having somewhat troublesome feet movement.
Surprisingly - former Playboy model and TV actress Pamela
Anderson is still hanging in and so is Olympic gold medalist ice skating champ
Evan Lysacek. Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger is kind of a class be
her self - not making any mistakes and being awesome each time she performs.
I guess there are things in life we don't need to
understand..... it is beyond me, why Larry would have an affair with his wife's
Shawn's sister! And apparently for the last 5 years!
All that came out after Shawn checked his VISA statement and
found records of some pretty expensive items - like $160,000 car plus ton of
gifts from Cartier. When she saw that Larry purchased Cartier diamond necklace,
it hit her that she never received it so she started looking into things more
carefully.
That was 5 years ago and all this time, the couple has been
fighting - and reports say that sometimes the fights were physical. One report
states that the couple was seen punching each other outside Nate'n Al's in
Beverly Hills about a year ago.
Larry did try several years ago to save their marriage by
transferring 3 homes - including one in Beverly Hills into Shawn's name. I
guess he thought that it would show his commitment to the marriage. Guess not -
and maybe he should think about the possibility of saving his marriage by
actions rather than throwing material stuff into the situation.
Well - apparently the last few weeks have been fairly calm
between Larry and Shawn, so let's hope that this is one marriage that will come
out of the mess without too much damage.
It does seem
like the bag has broken with all the celebrity marriages galling apart. All we
can hope for that too many people don't end up being enemies, making each
others lives miserable.
That doesn't
appear to be the case in the marriage break up of Mel Gibson and his wife
Robyn. They are ending their long term relationship quite amicably and in
reality, they will be in business long after the final papers are signed.
At the moment,
they are agreeing on everything so well, the judge is not even involved yet.
Lawyers, accountants and business managers are working out the settlement. The
stumbling block is the fact that most assets are in non-liquid properties and
those don't pay the monthly bills. To top this off, properties are difficult to
sell these days.
So, as all
the evaluations are going on, the couple will have to be working together. Mel
apparently doesn't have enough cash to buy Robyn out of Icon Productions -
their film company. But that seems to be OK with them for the time being and it
just goes to show you that not every marriage has to end up in court for
repeated sessions, making lawyers rich.
