Not sure if future contestants on American
Idol will be happy or sad to hear that Simon Cowell will not be delivering his
crushing judgements and destroying their stardom dreams.
Simon announced that this will be his last
season on the most popular show on TV - he is leaving to be the judge and
executive producer of the upcoming American version of the "X Factor" - the British
talent show.
He was apparently offered a lot of money to
stay on American Idol, but he felt that it is time to do something different.
Hmmm - he reportedly makes about $36 million a year on American Idol so all you
can say is that it must be nice not to need that money!
Ryan Seacrest congratulated Simon on Twitter
and paid him a very nice compliment by stating that Simon is one of the most
brilliant people in the business. And you thought they didn't like each other!
Now we are all just wondering what will Ellen
do - she was featured with simon on the cover of Entertainment Weekly last week
and she did make a comment regarding Simon possibly leaving American Idol. She
said that if he goes, she goes! Hey Ellen - we all hope that it is what your
contract has in the fine print!
Oh - and best of luck Simon - but judging by
how everything else has turned out, we are pretty sure it will be yet another
blockbuster!
The news is out - and it is pretty certain that Dr. Conrad
Murray will be criminally charged in the death of Michael Jackson. The LAPD has
concluded investigation and everything is now being sent to the D.A - that is
as soon as schedule allows (whatever that means) So you can bet that the
presentation will turn into quite a spectacle! It is pretty certain the
authorities will do their best to try to keep the presentation date as secret
as possible, but that is almost impossible.
The reports now say
that the LAPD investigation was exhaustive and extremely thorough and enough
evidence has been collected to criminally charge the good old Dr. Murray. That
will for sure be quite interesting, since he actually didn't break any existing
law in administering Propofol to Michael Jackson. So - you have to wonder what
they have on him to lay the charges! One little bit of information goes that
the authorities have enough evidence to charge him with at least - a manslaughter.
That charge requires a showing of gross negligence and my guess is that it will
be based on the fact that Dr. Murray left Michael alone after administering the
drug.
Stay tuned for more on this - and make wish along with me
that will put the good doctor behind the bars!
Casey Johnson, an heiress to the Johnson & Johnson empire (her daddy
Woody owns the New York Jets) has now been dead for couple of days and we are
still wondering what happened.
Her body was discovered on Jan4th in the morning - she was only 30 years
old.
And she is a classic example of how being rich all your life doesn't really
mean all that much when you have trouble after trouble. Not only was she
arrested in November for grand theft - the alleged victim was her girlfriend -
she was having numerous fights with her fiancé Tila Tequila. Tila said she has
been trying to contact Casey since the 29th of December, but Casey's
phone has been shut off.
Casey also had some serious money problems - which is almost hard to
believe. She had lost her Porsche for not paying her lease and was sued by
nanny service agency - all that in the last couple of months.
And Casey - who was a regular on Twitter - last tweeted on December 29th
at 1:13 am.
The cause of her death remains undetermined and law enforcement sources
have reported that Casey's body has been undiscovered for several days. The LA
County Coroner's office also reports that there is no evidence that she took
her own life and that there are "no anatomical findings" to determine the cause
of her death. And there is no evidence of foul play either and no significant
amount of prescription medications has been found in her house. We will have to
wait for toxicology report, which should determine the cause of her death.
The protective order Brooke Mueller had on her hubby Charlie
Sheen is pretty much gononly queste - the fighting couple wants to give their
co-habitation another shot.
Brooke wants to come back to LA with the kids so the lawyers
for both sides are trying to get the protective order changed so they can
resume living together. The only question is who will monitor the couple. The
prosecutor is asking for a public agency keep an eye to make sure Brooke is
safe - but she herself is concerned that there would be leaks to the press and
problems from that for sure. The judge who has to modify the order may have his
own idea as to what should happen next.
Brooke's lawyer Yale Galanter has contacted Charlie's
lawyers but sources close to Brooke tell that it has absolutely nothing to do
with money or their prenup. Why he made the contact is unknown.
So now it's up to the judge to untangle this one - but if
they want to work on their relationship, we hope they will get all the helpful
tool they can get.
Some more information from the LA County Coroner's office:
Brittany Murphy's husband and mother tried frantically to
revive her before the paramedics arrived and there were tons of prescription
meds on her bedroom nightstand. Investigation also reveals that Brittany has
been complaining of shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain for 7 to 10
days before her death. She went into her bathroom around 7:30 am on a Sunday
and when her mother Sharon went to check on her about half hour later, she
found her lying on the floor unconscious. Brittany's husband Simon Monjack
heard her screams and ran to the bathroom. Sharon ran to call 911 and Simon
attempted to revive Brittany by putting her in a shower and running the water.
That was not successful and when paramedics arrived, they couldn't find any
signs of life. They moved Brittany to the bedroom and that is where the noticed
numerous empty prescription medication bottles in Brittany's name, as well as
in her husband's name, the mother's name and another, unidentified name. They
noted medications used to prevent migraines and also anti-seizure, depression, anxiety, anti-inflammatory,
diabetic control, pain relievers, antibiotics and other pain control
medications. No alcohol containers of drug paraphernalia or other illegal drug
were found.
Brittany had consumed leftover Thai food with noodles,
Gatorade, water and tea with lemon prior to her death.
The fact that she complained of shortness of breath and severe
abdominal pains was apparently not alarming to anyone, because that happened
often in the past.
The death certificate that was just issued states that the
manner of death is pending investigation and immediate cause of death is
deferred. That means that the LA County Coroner is awaiting toxicology and
tissue tests. The possibilities of cause of death include natural, homicide,
suicide, accident and undetermined.
The interesting piece of information is that even though a
number of reporters have interviewed Brittany's father, her death certificate
lists the father as unknown. The death certificate also names Tayebe Pajooh - a
cousin as an Informant, and she has an address in North Carolina. That means
that she gave information which was deemed important.
I guess we will just have to wait for the coroner's further
findings to know what really happened to Brittany Murphy.
At 32 years of age, Brittany Murphy was without a doubt way too young to
die - she went into a full cardiac arrest
yesterday and could not be revived.
Los Angeles Fire department received the 911 call at 8 am from the home
of Brittany's husband Simon Monjack and Brittany was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical
Centre where she was pronounced dead.
It was her mom, who found her unconscious in the shower and when
paramedics arrived, they could only determine that she was in full cardiac
arrest and administering CPR on site and on the way to the hospital several
miles away did not help.
The LA County Coroner' office has started full investigation, but there
is no evidence of foul play. Full report of autopsy is still expected from the
coroner's office and if there is anything, LAPS stated that they will launch a
full investigation.
Brittany's family has release this statement: "The sudden
loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our
wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this
time."
Brittany
will be remembered for the films she made - such as "Clueless", " 8 Mile" and "Don't
Say a Word" and you might also recall that she was actually fired from her last
film "The Caller" for being difficult. But that's all water under the
bridge.....
Lindsay's
daddy ended up back in the slammer this
weekend - and this time it was over aphone call he made to his ex-girlfriend.
The authorities
nabbed him in Medford, NY after he called Erin Muller - the woman who had a
restraining order against him.
He was
charged with criminal contempt, because the restraining order clearly says that
he is restricted from trying to communicate by phone.
If you
recall - he was arrested in connection with this lady back in April, when he threatened
to kill himself and her, because she tried to dump him.
Looks
like the guy just never learns and it also looks like that he enjoys his stays
in various jails - why else would he be continuously doing stupid things?
Nicolas Cage just goes from one
problem situation to another! Now he has another law suit to deal with - this one
from Christina Fulton. Wondering who she is? Get this: She is his baby mama who
he ended the relationship with 15 years ago! Now she claims that Nicolas kicked
her out of their home and that he put her through mental, physical and emotional
abuse.
She filed the suit in LA County
Superior Court yesterday, claiming that in 2001, Cage bough a house for her and
promised to sign the title over to her. She apparently just found out now, when
she was going to sell the house and realized he never gave her the ownership.
And - in September - she was asked to vacate the premises. But - it is not only
Nicolas she is suing - the suit also names Sam Levin - Cage's business manager.
Well - she is not alone, since Nicolas is also suing the guy! It appears that
the business manager is the reason Cage is now broke!
But - back to Fulton - she demands
that the promise of being provided for is kept, since she gave up her acting
career to take care of their child, Weston. And that it was Cage's choice not
to exercise his joined custody rights. Plus - Cage apparently removed Weston
from the house as soon as he turned 18.
The main reason for the lawsuit
is that Fulton is over a million dollars in the hole for taxes and blames it on
Levin for not taking care of that in time. Her total damages are stated to be
more than $13 million.
Reply from Cage's lawyer Marty
Singer? He calls the lawsuit "absurd". For starters - statute of limitation on
that kind of a claim makes it baseless. He adds that even though Nicolas was
only required to pay Fulton support of $6000 a month, he gave her around $3
million each year.
It was confirmed this morning
that another 911 rescue call came in at 2:36 am from a home on Deacon Circle in
Windermere, FL - and that is Tiger Wood's residence. Ambulance reportedly took
a middle-aged woman to the hospital - but we are not sure as to the identity of
the lady.
First - a person from County Fire
Dept. Said that the address was not Tiger's - that it was perhaps a neighbour.
But that has been corrected - it was Tiger's home.
WKMG TV in Orlando reported that
a black Escalade (you must know by know that Tiger has two of them!) followed
the ambulance to the hospital and was driven by a blond woman. The ambulance
went to the health Central Hospital - that is the same one that Tiger went to
the night of his accident.
As to who was taken to the hospital
- Elin's mommy is in the US - so your guess is as good as mine. But of course -
this story is now developing......
So
Tiger's tournament went on without Tiger and hats off to all network and Golf
channel commentators for sticking to the event happenings!
Tiger
did reach out to those who also very much matter to him - his sponsors. His
website had an added note on it yesterday: "As the final round of the Chevron
World Challenge begins, I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you to
everyone affiliated with the event, especially our title sponsor, Chevron".
He also
thanked all supporting sponsors and staff, apologizing for being unable to
fulfill his duties as a host and a player in the event.
I guess
we will not see him on the golf course until January 2010 and as much as gossip
sites are still blazing with Tiger stories, rumours and stupid tidbits of what
they call "Information" - let's hope the holiday season will take over and this
will all calm down now!
You know something? I am betting that this whole thing is
going to get too boring to be following for
any new developments. Let's face it - Tiger did what he did, said what he said,
him and his family are obviously dealing with it and that's that. Or it should
be.
Especially since Rachel Uchitel just wants to disappear for
a while now and doesn't want to have anything to do with all the mess. It has
been confirmed that her decision had nothing to do with money, that Tiger did
not buy her silence. She cancelled her news conference yesterday, because she
is worried about her safety. I am thinking she may have a reason to be. She
obviously and admittedly by Tiger himself, had a relationship with him and
there is most probably a whole lot she knows. And the world is full of crazy
people, so her move is pretty much reasonable and justified. And - even if
Tiger bought her silence - so what? He is desperately trying to protect his
family privacy as much as possible, so what would be hard to understand?
And just to make it clear - Rachel was pretty strong on one point,
stating that she absolutely does not fear Tiger himself - just other people.
And the latest gossip and rumours about Tiger's marriage
situation? We hear that him and Elin are getting some pretty intensive councelling
and that he - supposedly - gave her $55 million to stay with him for at least 2
more years. They do have a prenup - under those condition, she would get $20
million - but - hey - who's counting?
